My family and I walk in and up to the counter. The place is quite busy and staffed to the hilt with about 8 people hustling about. One woman is answering the phone, hangs up, answers the phone, and so on. Almost 10 minutes passes and not one staff member even looks at us, let alone acknowledges our presence. After all, who are we but potential customers. We could be picking up or placing an order, but who cares really?

After all, they’re busy. They don’t need our money.

I really did want to see more of TNG style ships but alas, they went the way of the E-E after the D was destroyed. It was a shame, but oh well…

A little more progress on the warp nacelles. Very curvy. This is taking a lot more time.

The curved consoles with chairs are inspired from one of Probert’s concept bridges for the E-D.

In Alliston, placea like the Country Depot and TSC (though more a chain- it refrains from being over bearing). Small new businesses like Spring Basil and Canton can be staples in our town. Spring Basil has amazing food, terrific service and very reasonable prices.

Even chains like your local Tim Hortons should be mentioned. Though I have heard an unfortunate rumour that the one across from Banting is moving. More pointless decentralization that promotes less community and more driving. It is not nice for Tim Hortons to do and bad community planning by New Tecumseth if they approve a new location.

Regardless of where you go, just try to remember that little guy and if possible, get out of your car and walk there. Keep the core from turning into money marts, pawn shops, and dollar stores.

Being sold in as an entire set. Or the trains in their two groupings, transformers seperately, and tracks as a set.

I first heard about this study on the Dean Blundell Show on 102.1 The Edge. I love that show and take most of what they say with a grain of salt, including Dean’s shove this study in your parent’s face attitude towards smoking dope. Now incidentally, I don’t have a problem with adults occasionally smoking up. I do have a problem with organised crime being facilitated by people who purchase dope from sources that they can’t verify. Grow a small plant and smoke that and I couldn’t care less. Buy it or sell it, and you’re a criminal. But that’s a different story and not my point here.

So now pot smokers will be citing this study to the point of nausea in a continuing defence of getting high. Now they’ll twist this around to say that it’s not bad for them.

Before I go further, here’s the conclusion from the abstract:

   Conclusion Occasional and low cumulative marijuana use was not associated with adverse effects on pulmonary function.

Yes, it says occasional use. And low cumulative use means the total amount of use over a given period of time. In this case, the study suggests 1 joint, spliff, dubey, or bowl a day. Now I don’t know what size, but in college it may have been claimed that I participated in rolling some canons the size of small baseball bats… Does that count as just 1? And that’s just what some may claim… Not me though.

Regardless, it clearly suggests that the more you smoke, the worse it is for you. The fact that smoking tobacco is worse is a pointless comparision, because it’s even worse to suck on the exhaust of your car. The facts remain that it is still bad for you. Smoke more, and you affect your lungs.

Now will dope smokers read all the other studies that suggest quite negative evidence to smoking dope regularly? Probably not. Like the one on heavy use of marijauna by college students?

My point is that if you want to smoke a dubey, stop hiding behind “facts” that you twist to serve your own goals or getting high. Just say you smoke a joint because you want to get high. No different then someone who has a few drinks wants to get drunk.

Now don’t drive though. Because your mental state has been altered. And don’t try to bullshit anyone by saying you’re safe. Because if you were fine in the head, you wouldn’t want to get high!!! That’s the whole point, you idiots. And that’s what pisses me off the most. You want to get high but then claim you can function as well as when not high. So why are you getting high then? And to hide behind studies to justify getting high is equally bullshit. Just say you want to smoke a joint, sit in your basement or go play some pool. Whatever, but stop trying to bullshit everyone.

One more thing- to all you pin heads who HAVE to smoke every day, that’s called an addiction. You have a problem. And you idiots who do it in the morning, afternoon, and for bed, you’re even worse and probably contributing to organised crime in some fashion. Those are the same people who want your children addicted.

Is that what you really want? Smoke some dope and think of some dealer selling it to your 13 year old.
